** Participants from countries not classified as High-income Economies by the World Bank are eligible for concessionary rates. List of eligible countries. Also, graduate students are eligible for concessionary rates. To qualify for the student status, a verification letter from the head of respective department must be sent to ESWC2010@gmail.com or faxed to +8621 52302962.

The welcome reception of ESWC2010 will take place on the evening of Aug 17, 2010. More information about the reception will be available on our website soon.
The second social event of ESWC2010 is the World Expo tour . The Local Organizing Committee will book tickets for all ESWC2010 participants. The World Expo 2010 is the occasion for China to bring the world to home, and for the world to feel at home in China. It aims to promote the exchange of ideas and development of the world economy, culture, science and technology, to allow exhibitors to publicize and display their achievements and improve international relationships. The third social event is a concert on the evening of August 20, 2010 performed by Shanghai City Symphony Orchestra (SCSO). The SCSO was founded in 2005 by the famous and the respected conductor, Maestro Cao Peng and Shanghai Cao Peng Music Center, a non-profit organization of social cultural service and welfare. In January 2006, SCSO was honored to become a member of the World Federation of Amateur Orchestras (WFAO).The Orchestra comprises of Chinese and foreign music lovers living in Shanghai who have a high level of musical talents and passion. The entire concert consists of two parts, one for Chinese traditional folk music, and another for foreign classic symphony.
